Anyway I wonder what the symbolism with regards to Meiling is. A comment on their relationship or something else?

More than likely it's just the "Ha ha, look at Meiling" artists like to throw into EoSD group pics.

That and it seems like she's representing the color orange in this particular pic (even though her hair is the same color as Koa's...) and the artist couldn't think of another way to have her turned around.
