Wow this pairing...where did it start?

I was wondering the same thing after seeing a couple pics like these.

It's floated around here and there for a bit. Whenever I see people discussing it elsewhere they mention liking it "secretly"? It isn't a couple that's seen often, so if the art is nice, then I figure, why not.
