Strip 2: While Catherine's fire-eating bird half makes it hard to learn to swim as well as forcing her to have clumsy hand-wings like that. She's still half-dog.

Well, triangle couple worked fine, but they'll have hard time trying to justify a square ( or tetrahedron?) one. Anyway, it looks more like Tamaryuu accidentally "woke her up" :3

At first glance I thought that raku just changed Catherine's skin tone in the second strip but after a closer look that's a pretty convincing depiction of a skin reaction.

In the triangle each of them is/has a "wife" and a "husband," so does this mean they will be gaining a (half)dog?

Yeah, either she's allergic to something in the water, or she's getting a real prizewinner of a sunburn. From personal experience, those don't really start to hurt until the next day.

Begs the question of why didn't Tamaryu get a sunburn too, but maybe dragon hide doesn't burn so easily even in humanoid form.

They are in the pseudospace beach, the sun in there probably doesn't do anything besides being a source of light.
While Tamaryuu - as a fire-breathing western dragon - uses the element of fire, Catherine is - thanks to her mother, a fire-eating bird - half-fire elemental. Water is, of course, counter to fire, so Catherine gets a reaction when exposed to water.

Haha, silly Tamaryu just can't help herself around canine-people (remember post #842006?).

I was going to ask whether there was an artificial sun in that artificial space but I felt it would be kind of silly doing so.

I would imagine that Raku would answer most questions if you asked him in the pixiv comments. Though it wouldn't be in character.

I went with popularity poll, since I'm always interested in knowing who's popular. (Though my guess would be Tamaryuu first, Tatsuta second.)

Well, I'd gladly ask him, but my Japanese skills are way below acceptable (I'm already happy enough that I can somewhat communicate in English). It's not that I'm afraid to embarrass myself, the problem is that I won't be able to understand his answer, not to mention that he probably already answered most of questions I can think of in earlier comments. And, of course, picture response >>> text response :3

And popularity poll seems to win so far. Then again, it's 10 more strips 'till 200. Considering current biweekly schedule, it's 5 more months.

Some dragons surround themselves with magical treasures, while others go for crude displays of making a bed out of the sheer volumes of gold and silver they have. Dragons wealthy in the true treasures of the world, however, line their bed with a wealth of wives.

If Catherine's fallen, then there's little reason to expect Elly will last much longer, either... We're reaching "Fuck it, go for the Tenchi Solution" levels, here.
