I can think of a number of ways as to how strange or hilarious this is, so I hope this design is in fact a SG reference, which wouldn't be surprising knowing Daisuke always makes western media references.

I have to say, I kinda liked his old look more. Didn't one of his endings have him getting blown up by a grenade he jumped over, though? Maybe that's why he has a helmet now. That and those 'gloves' look like they might be his actual hands....
