Watched outlaw star again this week. It was better than I ever dared to remember it being, especially the ending. Highly recommended classic anime.

This closing shot nearly made me cry with child-like joy, but I couldn't find the image anywhere, so I took a screencap. It seems it isn't in every version, so the link below is the version I watched (dubbed). If anyone has a better quality version, particularly without the top cut off (it's cut to fit in a widescreen), I'd love to have it.

Is that really the original? I get the feeling the whole thing was stretched and if I watched it in 4:3 they'd all look weird and lanky. :x

Yep. The aspect ratio on my image is proper. The one you posted is stretched for widescreen or something.
