For the cosplay tag, wouldn't be more appropiate to use the uniform or the name of the fleet/group to which they belong? (not a military expert here so i dont know how is the term called).

Some of the ship girls, even within small classes, don't wear the same uniform as some others. Compare Takao & Atago with Maya & Choukai, all four are in the same class but both duos wear different uniforms. Kitakami and Ooi distinguishes themselves from the other Kuma-class. Murakumo looks different from the other Fubuki-class. Yukikaze from the other Kagerou-class. Shouhou and Zuihou don't even wear the same clothes.
So, I would use the ship class name for those who wear the same uniform, "ship class (variant)" for cases like the Takao-class and then, the individual's name for the odd one outs, cases like the Shouhou-class, classes-of-one and when a precise name is used.
