It's much easier to pick out when it's transcribed and set on repeat. I always thought she was saying 'wa', the feminine softening sentence particle or whatever. It still sounds something more 'w'-like than an English 'va', but I guess that stands to reason being that Japanese doesn't actually have 'v' in it's phonetic inventory. Interesting.
