It really makes me wonder what this girl is wearing on her ears. If she's wearing a bikini, chances are it's too hot to wear earmuffs (which are specifically to protect against cold). So that leaves "ear protection" (but there's no obvious sound source, excessive or otherwise) or "headphones" (logically wireless units) or just integrated headphones + mp3 player.

From what I've read her ability to comprehend 10 conversations at the same time tends to make her ears quite sensitive and are used to protect them in a sense.
They're specialty made ear "plugs". It's like those reverse mind protection devices you see in fiction all the time. They protect people's thoughts from her so she doesn't go crazy listening to every little thing all the time.
