Not really. Miho gets them whenever her mother shows up in the 4-koma.
The new part is the adorable evil look she's wearing.
I was talking mostly about Saori, and Miho hasn't had the angry empty eyes in "this series", i.e. his officially sanctioned series (both the manga and web editions), and not his unofficial 4koma work from Pixiv he did beforehand.
It'll be interesting if Miho's mother and sister will retain the overblown Miho-love from his unofficial series, or if they'll be toned down for the official release. From what I've seen so far, every one of the overblown characterizations have been toned down, but there are still hints that show through every now and then.
