    So I used German for the flashback to add a little bit of 'authenticity'. I'm not too familiar with colloquial forms of German (which I used here to mirror Lebe's use of 'boku'), so I would appreciate it if a native speaker would look over it.

    The German is ok. But I can't think of any formulation to get the boyish tone into it either.
