Yes, but they're birds in human form, who's personality is basically dictated by human conceptions of what they should act like. Humans generally don't eat primates unless there's not much else available, and it seems logical that people would believe that bird youkai wouldn't eat other birds.

I prefer birds, but I've eaten cows and even pigs. So why should Aya not eat chickens?
It's not just the fact that it's a bird. It's because it's cooked, fried and served like that. Even if animals eat their kind sometimes, they will still be weirded out or uncomfortable when given food, served in plates like this. Especially if they know it's their own kind, which is why intelligent ones like Mystia and Aya are so aggressive against it. Animals just like their meats fresh.

Big birds eat small birds like hawks and eagles, but Mystia is a sparrow! She IS one of those small birds. Sparrows typically eat seeds and bugs. Sometimes thats also why there's that bit of friction between her and Wriggle.
