With accent variations penis and furnace can end with a similar sound.

It had... a lot of layers. I did the best I could.
It's even worse in the original Japanese:

"There's a 'bou' (ボウ, could be read as "stick") that when you put it in (入れる=ireru) you get hot."

But the word for "heater" (暖房=danbou) also ends in 'bou,' albeit a different kanji. And ireru can also mean "to turn on."

OOZ662 is right. At least when I say them, the words I chose end with almost the same sound. But the spelling is different.
