At first glance when I saw the news posted I thought "Oh, this is one of the numerous fake links posted along with "R.I.P. ______"...this is too hard to swallow.
I'm glad that the memorial posts have been up and running for a bit. Hopefully he'll have a few good games waiting for the rest of us later, when we get there.
Somewhere up in heaven, God must be planning to create the greatest piece of entertainment the universe has ever experienced. Why else would so many famous actors, writers and programmers die in such a short span of time?

He was CEO of all of Nintendo since 2002, but he also took up the specific post of CEO of Nintendo of America in 2013. That might be where the confusion stems from.

Yeah. Games like Fortnite and Call of Duty have really made gamers toxic and too competitive that they’ve forgotten how to have fun.
To people like myself, I don’t play games to to be competitive and to prove I’m better then some ‘noobs’. True gamers play games for one key thing: fun.
Iwata helped show many what games are truly about, not as a CEO or a developer, but as a true gamer.
He will never be forgotten in the hearts of gamers.
