I read all of the translated stuff, by the way. Precisely because of that, I thought they were sticking to characters from Spiral Paradox, and Lio doesn't even appear in that story...
This image is for promotion for the movie series 4-7 I think that's why he's here and he is part of araya souren's plan for obtianing shiki. Maybe that's how he was linked together.
