The old one was a pixiv manga sample, which is a 'compressed' version of the original pic. In pixiv, the first image you see when viewing a post is the "manga sample" and when you clicked the image, you get the original size. (Kind of danbooru's "resized to window".)
The uploader probably used the "first image" URL so the uploaded pic was a compressed one.

I was gonna say the black one she made last could be Taihou, but seeing that there'd be no one left to make one for her, your explanation makes more sense. Especially since the black one is facing towards the other 5 (which would have been sunk by now).
