Really? i'm just casually switching line whenever some line is shorter than other. Not too short though, or you end up annoying yourself.

If in a group, couldn't everyone just each take a different line and the first one to reach the end can have the others join them?

...or is that not allowed?

Isn't it more effective to have single line, that is work with first in line go to the first free cabin? Or there is difference between cabins?
