If you pause it right and look closely in the actual game you can see that the Tonberry's do in fact go for the groin (It's not like they have any other options, considering their height, the little bastards) . . . Making this somewhat cannon.
I hear you, I hated them especially in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Advance 2. Bloody bastards always forced me to use Double-Wield and ranged attacks.

It's canon, and yes. What you said makes a little sense.
When i get my FF7 back I'm making a screencap remake of this since the dood does groin shot ya even though square didn't mean for it to be like that... seriously though way to go Tonberry, you always gotta screw up FF characters sex life.
