That's because they're completely incomprehensible numbers to a human sense of scale. That said, you just put "illion" onto the end of Latin numbers, so you can extend it on infinitely. You sometimes see it in some idler/clicker games once you get to the absolutely batshit insane multipliers. (Idling to Rule the Gods lets you have "power levels" into the novemdecillions. By then, you're creating universes at rivals as a special attack.) That said, practically speaking, it's far easier to just use scientific notation for incomprehensibly huge numbers, since basically the only way to actually make a hexidecillion make any meaningful sense is to just turn it into scientific notation, anyway, so why add another step?

In fact, Eirin talks about 2.2*10^89 later on, which is apparently 220 Septivigintillion.

To give a sense of just HOW incomprehensible these scales are, a human hair is somewhere in the ballpark of the millions range of atoms in width. There are in the ballpark of 10^80 atoms in the entire universe. So we're talking about a timescale where if you counted years by counting atoms in the universe, you'd be 0.0000001% of the way through counting the years before you ran out of universe.
