PA, or Parking Area, is a type of rest area in Japan along the highways for people to stop by and, as the name imply, rests. Some PA are equipped with only toilets and vending machines, whereas some have more facilities, such as conbini, food joints etc. An SA, or Service Area, is much larger than a PA, and on top of those facilities mentioned above, usually comes with gasoline stands and misc shops as well.
