They were pretty stylish in their time, and now with some fetishes. The ones who used corset were assisted from one or two servants (or someone who helps her)

Depends. Some are purely decorative and aren't actually made to 'squeeze' like old ones. They're basically a type of vest. Although those are a product of modern times where people have learned that cramming all of your organs into your chest cavity isn't a good thing.
