Which is perfectly normal. Its the single moms who are weird thinking a family can be brady bunch functional (which is fiction) when they already have kids. If raised from birth, then yes it could work, but most cases the kid already knows what is going on and wants his/her real dad, not some stud their mom is shacking up with.

Eh, I wouldn't mind too much, brats are rebellious as hell anyhow (daily screaming matches with my dad) and depending on the woman's qualifications (abilities, intelligence, etc.) and reasons for the last breakup matter too when considering such a thing (e.g. the man was too jealous of her mad skillz at... everything... and deserted out of butthurt machismo = UPVOTED!!!!!!)

Best solution is to just get rich or powerful enough to not give a damn, but to never sign off on any of the woman's kids inheriting until YOUR OWN eldest is old enough to deal with any succession crisis.
