It's a game about warships fighting battles, and war is always full of violence, cruelty, and tragedy. The only way to avoid it is to explicitly remove that element entirely (e.g. Puchicolle).

Of all the Kancolle web-comics I follow, this was the last one I expected to have serious feels. But somehow, I feel like I understand why Watabe acts the way she does now.

The kind of aloof way she is around Inazuma and the tsundere? Given how she resented the last one and then made that promise too late to her, she's trying to make up to this current version who acts different from the one she met and was going to take into her family?

...she's a drop ship post #1905001. Seriously why are you guys bothering with spoilers? all this info is in the previous pages already. (even if there's no solid proof, there's enough circumstantial evidence to say who Inazuma is)

I don't really get what makes them the "#th" ship here. Is it by construction, or the admiral's generations, or something else, I don't know. So I just think this is Koharu's grandpa Inazuma, but came into a "reset" when she was assigned to Koharu.

Chuuni!Koharu meets OGInazuma
OGInazuma befriends Chuuni!Koharu
OGInazuma is sunk immediately afterward. Koharu's grandfather is KIA.
OGInazuma wanders the ocean as an abyssal for an unknown length of time (you can see the transformation in a flashback/nightmare gag, as her eyes change to Abyssal Blue/Green and her lines become spoken in katakana)
Abyssal!Inazuma is sunk. Present!Inazuma becomes a dropship as a result. Assigned to Naval Base.
Admiral!Koharu is assigned to naval base. Cue the first strip in the series.
