Well Bee Flies, the creature that cutiefly and ribombee are based on, often have parasitoid larvae, as in, a parasite that eventually eats or sterilizes its host. And bees, ants, and termites are regularly tricked into caring for the larvae of other species. This is actually quite fitting, actually.
