... when that is not overused. This joke is actually funny only when it does occur within a context that favors it as a logical consequence. Hijiri beating the shit out of Miko for the sake of it is not funny at all and even tends to induce the opposite effect.
This picture here is a rather good usage of that meme: "Hey it's Miko's anniversary! How about we celebrate it the proper way?" => THUS she is being bullied.
