I imagine this would've been even edgier if Ikazuchi did kill Inazuma for this.

Ikazuchi is truly an angel for putting up with him after all that.
I don't know if that is being an angel as it is being dumb. Supporting low lifes like that doesn't help anyone and it just gets worse the longer it goes. Compassion for bad people only propagates whatever evil or otherwise wrong deeds they promote. While we would like to think otherwise, people don't change, and if they do, it almost certainly isn't because of the actions of someone else, but something they decide on their own.
