I'm now imagining this as a WoWs match where a Shiratsuyu is hiding behind an island waiting for 2 enemy Shiratsuyus to round the corner before releasing a 16-torp salvo. But then an allied Kagero (stand-in for Asashio in this case) decides to "help" by launching their own 8-torp salvo first that kills all 3 Shiratsuyus, friend and enemy alike.
