Also, how was Atlanta capable of staying in what's clearly some completely different town where Mickey lived from the age of about 7 onwards? Atlanta's family doesn't look rich enough to afford multiple homes.

Maybe it's the reverse, Atlanta's village disapproves of people turning into girls, so in order to be able to get their wish they had to go elsewhere in order to find someone (ie: Mickey)

But that would be a rebellion against the egg system, which would be what the whole Juri thing was about, not specifically a "gay village" thing. And why go elsewhere to find someone to turn into a girl if they disapprove of turning people into girls?
