To be fair, this seems like the only reasonable outcome. A drunk kiss wouldn't mean much for moving their relationship forward - if anything, it would just get him in for more slapstick tsundere abuse when she sobered up, as he was fearing in previous pages - and having her puke all over him would just be gross.

The amorous-drunk-falls-asleep-before-getting-anywhere gag is a standby for romcom, and the arc as a whole has still done the job of establishing, on the principle of in vino veritas, that she does actually like him.

Kiss would be too much and it's kind of unsatisfying I'd like to see more of drunk Murakumo. I think it's good way and now I can't wait for next pages, do you think she will be embarrassed about what she did? Or maybe she will not remember anything?

Feh. Would've been a pleasant surprise. Oh well, Status Quo is God around here. Actual developments don't quite fit gag manga, with a few exceptions.

Next bet is whether or not this little arc ends with a denouement or we go on ahead to the next set of wacky hijinks and misunderstandings.

It wouldn't mean much going forward, but at the same time, they've already had "that doesn't really count as a kiss" TWICE already, so if anything, this is a regression. Besides, it's not like Ha Akabouzu passes up many chances for slapstick violence between these two. I was figuring he'd actually go through with it just because it wouldn't really change the status quo.
