this valkyrie is misclassed. she uses a sword&board and as a protagonist for her series would qualify her for saber, she is skilled in magic and is a divine spirit, so she can access Caster, but her overall role and personality would also allow her access to Ruler, which I think would be her best class.
Gotta agree with @cd young, the only thing I can think of that would make her a lancer is that she shoots projectiles out of her sword from the second game. Which is pretty tenuous, but there are some pretty tenuous classifications in FGO too.
You guys are seriously overthinking it, it's just a joke because FGO added a Lancer-class Valkyrie Servant yesterday. The stats on the card are the exact same.

Eh, not really. It's common knowledge that the Saber class is full of people that fire beams or death-rays from their swords. Heck, OG Saber/Artoria is one herself.
