A 9mm sub gun, while compact, may not be enough to take down larger gobs like hobgoblins. He would be better off with a shotgun, or if it just has to be a submachine gun, something in .45 or larger.

The KRISS Vector he's carrying has a very stable muzzle, and it being a sub makes for a good close quarters gun.

Standard Vector models come in both 9mm and .45 calibers.

KRISS Vector shoot .45 as standard, 9mm version is only after .45 release and US gunner wants it so they made one, also shotguns is a great idea but it still depends on what shotgun you're using, e.g AA12 drum mag is too big to carry, you lose a lot of space for it, personally recommending M4 super nova (M1014) or DP12

Added to the Clever pool since GS is using a Kriss Vector, whose name after the Javanese weapon, the Kriss, a short sword. Hence GS calling his gun a short sword.

Given how almost any SMG fires 600+ RPM, 9mm will be plenty. Even if the first shot doesn't kill, you can fire so many so quickly it won't matter.
