Where are you getting "sings" from? I'd read that as "Miku turns her back as if embarrassed, and gently asks:"

From the bit of the comment that somehow didn't copy-paste correctly. The full thing from pixiv is: ミクは恥ずかしそうに後ろを向き、優しくこう歌った。

Where "歌った" coupled with the music note from the image imply singing. Actually though it should be "sang" and not "sings"
