errr, it means when the Higurashi cry. Or better, when the cicadas cry. Eat is "Taberu" in Japanese. たべる in hiragana.

He's referring to "kuu" (くう), the informal version of "taberu", since Godot can't see the "na" in なく.

Maybe "When the Cicadas Were Nine"? It doesn't make much sense- Godot must have been even more confused by the series than everyone else.
