Close - it's the A-10 Thunderbolt II. Notice the lettering on the "weapon" - GAU-8/A, the designation for the 30mm "Avenger" Gatling gun. It's a scary, scary weapon in real life.
It's kinda funny, when they thought up the Avenger gun, they just considered the best way to get the thing flying. So, basically, it was a gun so awesome they wrapped a plane around it to give it wings.
