I don't know... I'm just losing interest on these comics.

By now it's obvious none of these new Servants will be added to the game other than Bunyan, which was like two years ago, and the series won't ever bother to even tell us who they are.

The attempts to make long term plots fall flat because the series can't follow a coherent thread to save its life (oneshot gags suited it better), and lampshading how they are skipping the story at random just makes it more grating.

It feels like this is neither fish nor fowl anymore; it's not an effective gag page showcase by now, but it can't be a solid storyline either, and it doesn't bring any actual new content to the game, so it feels like it's just come to spin around with no purpose.

It even looks like the translators have lost interest.

Its understandable. It has been running for 5 years now as a gag manga and after a while, even that can get old. Even Riyo himself admit that he’s pretty much just beating a dead horse and had no idea why it was still going back at the start of season 2. Still, I admire his dedication to his work and I still enjoy it and look forward to every update cause I still find these comics great to read. Just wish they would make more episodes of it as an anime or, yeah, at least add another of his servant in instead of re-running bunyan’s quest, though its still great.

"Senpai will definitely love part 2's story!"

That depends on if Gudako likes things getting darker and darker because that's apparently good story telling......There's a reason I've skipped all the LB stories whether JP or EN, I just stopped caring....

Well, as someone who loved the Lostbelt, it is more of a return to the usual Type-Moon writing...sorta. In otherwords, its depressing and there is no winning for the main characters, even when we do emerge victorious. Although it is dark and grim, there is still a very small silver-lining of "hope", but it is constantly being drowned out by the horrible, horrible guilt of your(the player character's) decision and failure to help anybody. It brings back memory of Fate/Zero and that was pretty much universally loved by everyone in the community.

I personally consider it great story telling due to how well it is able to make me feel for the characters and the lost belt worlds. The fact that actual human characters show up and contribute to the story is a very big plus and a smart, albeit gut wrenching, decision.

The story was different from Part 1 which we mostly befriend servants, and although we feel sad for them when shit hits the fan, they're fucking servants and don't really matter since once they return to the grail they forget everything and could be brought back anytime to Chaldea. There's usually no stake or any need to really feel for them cause, once again, they're not gone or in any actual danger Although the bit with Musashi did blindside me. That was a kick in the balls

I understand if after a while, you would just want to skip it. When I got to India/Yuga Kshetra and after like...the third cycle or so it was just too much. Having to constantly watch Asha's world be destroyed and then reborn and all that was just too fucking much. Seriously, after like...the third time I just wanted to scream.

But if you just stop caring, that's also understandable too but I feel FGO is one of the few gacha games that actually put hardwork into their story compared to the many others which are subpar at best due to wanting you to whale and nothing more.

I'm grateful that they're putting a lot more effort into it and that if this was Nasu's last work with FGO, then it is a very good and deserving, and that even if it might not be for you it is at least worth giving a glance for its story value.

Yeah, FGO is the only one I play for story. Gameplay isn't anything to write home about but I like that it's perfectly clearable without relying on changing metas that most gacha/mobile games fall into. There is a meta like Merlin or Skadi of course, but you're not gonna be competing with whales who bought everything anyway so all they do is make the single player quests less tedious.

Other gacha games I've been playing has a story but they're not really great, and they're clearly focused more on whales competing in competitive online which I really don't care for, I just wanna roll gacha and get cool characters.

It is actually true that FGO is very unique in that aspect. Even if you use a full team of 5* at max level, you might still have trouble if you try to just brute force, especially in the later areas.

I know from experience cause my entire team is Mash + 5 stars and I still struggle if I don’t at least think ahead or have some plan. Although, the Memelin meta is still top tier, it does have its downsides when the game actually decide to shove its hands straight up your ass.

There are times even when certain 4 stars are better, like Helena or Atalanta who are both my personal favorite.

I like that the story itself take more importance and that you can still get a sense of satisfaction, or especially, if you can clear with weaker servants and that although some servants have powercreep skills, you can still just level your favorite one and they can do just about as well, although of course there are limitations. I personally feel that the game currently is more focused on the vetern players and new players, they have a very wide gap and wall placed in front of them.

It might be why out of all the mobas, FGO is still one I’ve stuck with even after all those years cause it generally does feel like they put love and effort into it, although it might just be an illusion.

I do like how the devs have somehow managed to keep powercreep in check despite the newer Servants having fancier skills and NPs. For example: Euryale, a year 1 3-star Servant, is still relevant in the Lostbelts despite bosses having charm immunity.

So how about finally starting Part 2, Senpai?
No, I mean there are still 3 udon servants remaining aren't there?
And now, the curtain rises on a new battle in Chaldea.......
You're not interested in that at all though......
    Hah?
Thus the country of the Children's Alliance welcomed in a peaceful spring.
Right now, it's not too late at all!
Senpai would definitely like Part 2's story.
Chaldea has finally become peaceful again.
Let's experience the upcoming climax with our fellow users!
Until those three rest in peace, let's take responsibility and watch over the Holy Grail War.
    Previously on FGO:
Thanks to Saber's authority, the False Moon once again returned to its orbit.
Bunyan had a sudden Costume Dress unlocked which cleansed her impurities.
