Bah, this has been naggin' at me for ages, can someone please translate this?

Man, that is Giant from Doraemon! I remembered when his eyes changed and where everyone suddenly likes him.

I think it was Vol. 36 Chapter 18 of Doraemon. The one with the honest man who had his axe dropped into the pond (or whatever).

In the invention involved a item (or person) had to be thrown into the pond machine and the robot goddess would give a far superior version back in return. Takeshi wouldn't be coming back if he did try that on himself.

I just wondered. What would have happened to the new and improved nice Gian in the end? Does a robot created clone (or robot) have rights to live on as a living being? I'm glad I didn't have to answer that.

But the only catch was that the old item was not returned.
