Her design was bugging me that it didnt quite fit, but its hit me - she looks like an american
Legs are very long in proportion to her body, and the boots must has subconsciously linked her to Hornets design for me
Well she is the first proper British cruiser in game, (that's not operated by someone else in the Commonwealth anyway) Maybe this is what a Royal Navy cruiser is like. Royal Navy cruisers were long legged to get around the Empire, because they were the primary means of maintaining said Empire at sea.

Konishi likely have gone for a squire theme for the cruisers. Like how Nelson is supposed to be the lady knight. Which is, in my opinion, better than the themes in AL.
I think Demundo is talking about their designs been more of a fetishization of the concept of a maid through otaku lens rather than a more historically accurate depiction of a british maid
Yeah, by settings. But design wise, they are but a clump of fetishized girls in outfits for men to see. If anything, they are maids to the so called commander. Not to say they are necessarily bad though.

Curacoa and Curfew are the most realistic looking maids in AL. But everyone likes the fanservicey maids more, so....
Sex sells, we all know most of AL money comes from the fetishization of the ladies designs. And that in a game without clothing damage images like KC and GFL.
I just wish the fans would stop poking at each other when you CAN actually enjoy all the designs.
Just one look and I already liked this Sheffield better than the AL version. Konishi knows how to do designs.
Fun fact: There were trolls on the Japanese internet mocking Azur Lane fans by saying that the Azur Lane character of the same name would become outdated, but that didn't work out and he was laughed at by KanColle haters. Additionally, the character was criticized for getting the barrel length wrong, something that even Azur Lane didn't do. As a result, the Japanese internet was bashing the character, saying things like "Isn't this character just a fake Sheffield?"

To be honest, I'm among those who do not expect games or such to really be historically correct. In the end, entertainment is entertainment. Expecting too much is just ridiculous.
And people would say whatever they want anyway. lol

The thing with KC is that despite not being an educational IP has managed to surprised the fandom with historical details that are even hard to find on the internet unless you search through books, a good example of that are how they reference Massachutssets' turrets having names and in KCAC uses identification stripes for the carrier planes.
This doesnt meant KC hasnt done "fuckups" like Colorado's gun barrels being too large or Rodney's guns having very wide muzzles but usually is because KC commits to make more historical references way more often they tend to get more errors as well.
If AL gets something wrong it really isnt a big deal to the history buffers of said fandom since even the devs said they want to distance themselves from relying too much on ww2 history as an inspiration, even the riggings barely resemble the irl warships they are mean to represent for the sake of having cooler designs than the grounded and militaristic vintage look KC has.

That's the problem. The details being liked are not depictions but references. If we talk about design accuracy, these games are already out of question with how they show girls instead of actual ships.
