I do believe that's the point for that position.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind taking any of these classes...except for Ultimecia's which isn't a class.

Social Studies = history + politics, basically. Sephiroth's as suited for that as anything else. Except maybe kendo, which wouldn't fit because this is clearly meant to be a western-style school.

Oh I see. I was wondering why the kanji didn't match up with some of the translations. Not that I could do much better. I only recognized 5 of the kanji myself.

Some western-style japanese school include kendo in their sports so maybe he would teach it afterschool.
