I, uh, might just be saying this because I don't really fully understand how Remilia's power works, but doesn't she have the power to control fate, or whatever? Why couldn't she just change the fate of her party to one that's successful?

Remi's exact abilities and limits along those lines are unclear. She may not have any conscious control at all.
