What's up with these remakes anyway? I liked them, but since the only had FireRed and LeafGreen, we didn't have an actual "Blue" nor an "Yellow" anymore...
Now, with HeartGold and SilverSoul, we get Gold, Soul but we lose Crystal...

Leaf Green was blue. In Japan they originally released Red and Green which had really bad graphics. Then they released a Special Edition Blue Version with the graphics we know from Red/Blue. When the games were released outside of Japan they released Red and Green, only using the graphics from blue. Red was still red, but green was called blue for some reason.
So Japan got the remakes, Fire Red and Leaf Green. Only this time instead of changing Leaf Green to Water Blue in other countries they left it as Leaf Green for some reason
hmm why do so many people care about crystal? there was barely any fanart before 09.crystal never even conpributed much to pokemon. barely anyone remembered her from crystal version. since she wasn't in the original gold or silver, witch actually makes since why shes not in HG and SS.

she was a major part of the manga. and I beg to differ with "there was barely any fanart before 2009"
It was the first time the player could choose a female to play as. Also, Crystal was the best version. Knowing Nintendo, there's always a chance of a Crystal remake within a year anyway.
In the Silver and Gold series (not crystal) were only a male player to play. And the HG SS are remakes of S and G not from Crystal were cris were playable.

thats what I had thought, too, but they ported the Eusine/Suicune events from Crystal into HGSS...

This pic definitely saddens me... I don't hate Kotone, but I'd trade for Crystal any day! I wish there was a MindCrystal version with Crys, or something. Heck, I know it's not doable, but I wouldn't even mind an AR code to alter the sprite to Crystal.
What would've been better would be if Crystal and Kotone/Lyra were sisters and if you chose to play as a girl you got to choose which of the two you wanted to be but if you played as the guy Crystal and Kotone/Lyra traveled together and shared a starter.
