Futo is basically assuming that a shinigami being there with her targets means that Byakuren is consorting with demons.

The path of the sage Futo follows is all about changing yourself to the point the reaper can't recognize you to take you away. Now she finds the rival religion being chummy with the reaper.
This is why Miko is a woman now instead of the male king she used to be.
