Fuck you, give my money back!!!
Geneva (日内瓦, rì nèi wǎ) sounds close to "fuck you(r mother)" (日你妈, rì nǐ mā) in Chinese and is used as an euphemism.
This is an extremely viral Chinese meme. In 2016, China got into the third round of the 2018 AFC FIFA World Cup Qualification for the first time in 14 years. In the third game, China had to play against Syria. Syria wasn't a strong opponent, Chinese fans were hoping to see a victory, especially after the disadvantages of losing to South Korea and drawing against Iran in the two previous games. But in the end, China lost 1-0 to Syria in a huge disappointment.
China's players also showed questionable attitude, such as seemingly not giving their entire effort and concentration during the game, and laughing carelessly afterwards.
After the game, a reporter went to interview the fans gathered outside the stadium. While attempting to appease the mood, a bunch of yelling football fans approached, and the reporter approached her mic to one of them, who, filled with disappointment and anger, appeared in the camera and yelled "Are you worthy of us (our support)? FUCK YOU, GIVE MY MONEY BACK!" while shaking his arms.[1]
He's then followed by other angry fans who sparked more gems like "Very disappointed, I jump!"[2], "It's already phinesed finished!"[3], "Can you win 7 games? There're 7 left, can you win them all? You can't right? It's blue la!"[3] [4]
The video became viral because of how hilarious the scene was, the chaotic and dramatic interview, all the quotable dialogues with accents, and the reporter's awkward behaviours and inappropriate questions like "Do you feel disappointed?".[5]
[1] It is later learned that the yelling guy didn't manage to get a ticket ahead and paid 1600¥ for the ticket whose original price is 380¥ through ticket resale.
[2] "Jump" (跳 tiào) is also an euphemism for "fuck" (cào), but much less common. It's even funnier in this scenario because the guy who said it actually started jumping afterwards.
[3] There were 10 games in total of which you have to accumulate enough points to advance to the next round. Since China lost this game, which is the only one with a winning chance, it's unlikely that they're gonna accumulate enough points and the following games don't really matter anymore.
[4] The guy said "It's difficult la!" (难 nán) with an accent, which made it sound like "It's blue la!" (蓝 lán) instead, which made the phrase even more memeable.
[5] The reporter was a rookie who just graduated at the time, you can see that she was trying hard to get control of the situation. She also mentioned afterwards that she didn't come prepared for a defeat. It wasn't too bad for a rookie to be honest. Many suspect that she got pushed out to do the interview because smart experienced reporters no one else wanted to go given the circumstance.
