Nah, Flandre never has it in her to really blast Meiling anyway. She's just firing off the attacks out of embarrasment so they're not at full power.

Though even then you do have to give Meiling props for not even blinking.

Meiling is clearly putting up a IaMP style block there. I always thought of her as the sole fighting game character stuck in a world of Danmaku. Her power is up there with the rest of them but she isn't half as good at spreading it around.

Very nice foreshadowing of the pure awesome that comes up later on in this saga.

I knew Meiling would be fine. Hell, she's not even singed. I could tell from the begining how there two feel about eachother.

In the last panel, Flan is playing with Meiling's hair.

Just pointing that out.

Flandre said:
"If the sun hadn't come out... Then, you..."

Meiling said:
"Yes. That is so, young mistress."

So Flandre is firing at full power more or less uncontrollably, and Meiling knew full well that if the sun hadn't been out, she would have had her face blown off. And she takes it at point blank without flinching.
