So as to clear things up (and that nobody reverts this back to how it was): 先生（せんせい）can be used to refer to several kinds of... let's say "respected members of one's community". So it's not only for teachers, but doctors usually receive that treatment as well. Seeing as there's a sthetoscope involved, I reckon there should be no doubts here.
