When もらう follows a verb in "-te" form, it can mean "to get someone to do something" (implying one receives some kind of benefit from the action.)

Oh, I think I just really badly conveyed what I meant. I did know about the "-te" form version, but the "get someone to do something" part slipped my mind. Thanks for the catch.
