Just offhand it looks like Sanae is offering this thing to Nue. So maybe it's what she _thinks_ most youkai eat... but Nue doesn't seem thrilled with the idea.

I am wondering if Sanae is just messing with Nue since she knows Nue like to mess with humans alot, then again Sanae hasn't been a good girl since she started the whole youkai exterminating
