I spelt it like that partly to make it look like "Cirno", and that I though that making it "Burno" would make the joke far too obvious.

I'd think the opposite going by how Cirno IS one of the smartest and strongest around(at least when compared to her fellow Fairies), of course everyone would think that Burno was super smart and strong with the truth being something different.
