See the Uploading Guide and the Upload Rules. Uploading one's own work here isn't technically forbidden, but it's generally regarded as disrespectful and tactless, sort of like a painter walking into an art museum and hanging their own paintings on the wall.
Also, amateur artists frequently overestimate the quality of their work, and we've seen a lot of tantrums here from artists who took it as a personal insult when their uploads got deleted. A significant part of the reason we discourage artist uploads is to mitigate drama.
But beyond whether or not it's allowed, I think the bigger question is, why would anyone upload their own work here in the first place? Sites like Pixiv and DeviantArt are a lot more artist-friendly when it comes to controlling how your work is presented: you can turn off comments on images, lock the tags, make images private, etc. Here you can't do any of that. The only way you can exercise ownership over your work on Danbooru is to contact the administrator and demand to have it taken down. Artists are better served by the sites designed for them rather than one that was designed specifically for reposting.

Honestly people keep mistaken this place as similar to pixiv or the latter when this site is more of an archive/3rd party for fanarts.

I've read through the rules before uploading and yep there's this guideline where Danbooru doesn't approve artworks that are "poorly drawn". And as much as I can understand how some artists would take the deletion of their self-uploads personally (thinking that it implies that their artworks are deemed as poorly drawn), I also understand that Danbooru archives are more for artworks that are more acceptable to see for the general viewer's eyes (at least that's how I see it)
The reason I've been self-uploading is simply for publicity as I find it as a good way to find more people who may be interested in looking through my artworks, which could also lead to supporting me to keep drawing. I'm fully aware that Danbooru isn't similar to Pixiv or DeviantArt, and I'm fine with however my artworks are presented, or how people see my artworks
So I'm personally fine with whether or not my posts get approved. But if they do get accepted, I see it as a good chance to get more people to see my artworks, which is the reason why I'm here. I hope I'm not bothering anyone...!
