This should not be tagged with PCB as it seems to depict Yuyuko's sacrifice to seal the tree when she was human. Plus, two characters does not represent the entire game, despite them being the major ones.
Of course she killed herself. This was before Yuyuko became a ghost. She killed herself because she couldn't control her powers to invoke death on others.

As far as I can tell, she sliced both her aa. carotidae communes simultaneously. That's actually pretty damn clever, because it leaves your brain with virtually no blood supply at all and you lose consciousness in less than five seconds.
To "bleed out" takes a slightly longer time (minutes), but in this case it's irrelevant, doing the thing Yuyuko did is pretty much a one way trip if you do it properly.
Medical standpoint aside, Yuyuko's story always made me feel very melancholic for a while. I just might have a soft spot for tragic heroines like her.
