While I haven't read but snippets, Pocket Monster Special is the closest incarnation of the games' world, praised by the games' creator himself. Its characters are derived from each entry, and have the moxy to match their prolific exploits, the kind each player of the game goes through and aspires to, keeping the feel while being cool and exciting.

...something like that.

actually the manga that follows the games the closest is pocket monster zensho....this is a close second

The only thing i think that fails in the Pkmn Special manga is the art, too kiddy, a little more mature style like this post #555498 (not so much mature, just a standar) would be nice

the 1st 9 volumes are quite kiddish, but the later volumes get really better and less "kiddy"
