Darn. Hijiri, Shou, and Murasa are only backups. Couldn't have they been fit in over some of the other participating characters?

Well, I guess I could hope for some injuries/disqualifications...

Well, Byakuren's supposed to be a pacficist IIRC, so I guess that's why she's only backup.

I think the point is that the amount of people in the tornement needed to be divisible by 8. If they joined in as actual contenders then the would be people without an opponent to fight.

Looking at this tournament and some of the people in it, somehow I think injuries aren't going to be entirely out of the question, especially if this ends up anything like Touhou Tag Dream. (Yuka was awesome there.)

You know, it would have been easy to get rid of fodder like Tokiko or the three fairies and put those three in their place instead. In fact, get rid of all four of them and add the three, plus Nue.
